Leo Durocher - aka "Leo the Lip"
Leo Durocher is a relatively recent addition to my Coaches Collection. This is a collection of drawings of famous coaches from all major sports who are known for what they say in interviews as much as they are known for the success their team has ( or doesn't have) on the field.
Leo kind of bounced around the major leagues for his entire career, playing for four teams and managing or coaching for five. The picture is from his time as a 3rd baseman for the Brooklyn Dodgers.
He was a part of 4 World Series winning teams and was a three time all star 3rd baseman as a player. In addition he is a member of the Chicago Cubs hall of fame ( as a manager from '66 to '72 )
He was more famous for what he said I think, earning the nickname "Leo the Lip".
