Lord of the Rings - Gandalf encourages Frodo in Rivendell

Literature Landscape

The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy is a summarized version of the books written by J. R. R. Tolkein. One of the scenes from the books that was left intact in the first movie is this interaction between Wizard Gandalf the Grey and Frodo the Hobbitt after he awakens in Rivendell where he was healed of the knife wound inflicted by the Nazgul Black Riders at Weathertop.

He is preparing to embark on a journey with eight others to destroy the One Ring. This tale of the nine companions makes up a bulk of the story in the first book of the LOTR trilogy - The Fellowship of the Ring. The complete conversation between Gandalf and Frodo is included here to reflect that they are talking about the burden of carrying the One Ring to the fires of Mount Doom where it can be destroyed.
