Lou Holtz on Success
Lou Holtz was the head Football Coach for six collegiate and one professional team in his career. He started at The College of William and Mary for 2 seasons, then moved to NC State for three years before going to the pros for one year with the New York Jets.
He moved back to Collegiate Football at the University of Arkansas, The University of Minnesota and then from 1986 to 1996 he coached at the University of Notre Dame. In 1988 his team went 12-0 and won the Fiesta Bowl and was the consensus National Champion in the era before the Bowl Championship Series. He finished his career at the University of South Carolina from 1999 to 2005.
Coach Holtz was an articulate speaker, a strict disciplinarian and a great motivator. His philosophy is included in these quotes
