Lumbergh - Office Space
The director of Office Space captured the day to day feel of a software company frantically updating their code in preparation for “Y2K”. ( This turned out to be a big nothing burger in the real world)
In this scene Peter Gibbons (Ron Livingston) is trying to escape the office at 5:00 on a Friday when his boss at Initech, Vice President Bill Lumbergh (Gary Cole) appears at his cubicle with bad news for any weekend plans
The Lumbergh character has become the symbol of bad managers across the country. He inspires Peter, Michael Bolton and Samir to get even in the hilarious conclusion of the movie. Hopefully you haven’t reported to any Lumberghs in your career
