The Princess Bride Wedding - Mawwaige
The Princess Bride Wedding scene is captured here.
The Priest reciting the vows in the wedding scene towards the end of The Princess Bride is played by Peter Cook. His character is identified as “The Impressive Clergyman” in the movie script. His difficulty with pronunciation make this a memorable and funny ceremony.
When the ceremony begins the front gate to the castle is attacked by Westley, Inigo Montoya and Fezzick. The rucus generated by this attack causes the prince to get impatient and hurry things along. He is anxious to complete the ceremony and then blame Princess Buttercup's death on invading enemies. In his haste to wrap up the wedding vows he forgets to have the Princess say “ I Do”
Inigo Montoya’s sword fight with the six fingered man - Count Rugen, takes place after this scene concludes
